This is a specialized 5-day course focused on learning the sewing techniques used in the production of haute couture models in lace. The work of lace is a specific work that requires mastery of certain techniques and specific procedures. The specialized course is open to all but it is preferable to have a good knowledge of sewing in general. These techniques are taught through the realization of a model chosen by the teacher and which has the distinction of combining several technical difficulties.
Course organisation
The model proposed by the teacher is a top with short sleeves in lace; The pattern is provided. Once copied, it is adapted to match each of the participants’ morphologies. As time go by, the teacher indicates the various stages of the making of the piece and supervises each person’s work.
The model is made in a Sophie Halette or Solstiss lace, historical Chantilly lace producers in Caudry France;
An additionnal fee of 80 euros is required to cover the costs of the lace bought globally for the course (size from 38 to 46).
Materials: An ARISTO square, fine needles and needles to embroider, base thread, contrast thread for fitting, nylon thread for sewing (fine transparent), a tape meter, a paper pencil or mine holder, clear tape, gum, fabric scissors, fine-headed pins, a quick-top.
Prices and conditions The price of the specialized course is 600 euros. It runs from Monday to Friday. This amount is payable at the time of registration, directly at the school location, or by transfer. The specialized course takes place from 3 confirmed participants; lamaisonde retains the right to cancel the specialized course no later than one week before the date of the specialized course in case of insufficient participation.
